To promote RF innovation and invention, Microtune has established an RF Center for Excellence in Ingolstadt, Germany.

The RF Center for Excellence is comprised of a team of broadband and automotive systems experts that drive RF technologies into new, forward-looking, manufacturing-ready products. They bring solutions to market quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively, and then provide customers the highest level of quality and support to integrate Microtune RF technology into consumer end products.

To date, the Microtune RF team has been granted 76 U.S. patents with 30 U.S. patent applications pending for RF circuit, architectural and system designs.

The team is tightly networked with Microtune’s integrated circuit and system experts at the RF Centers for IC Excellence in the U.S. to ensure that expertise and intellectual property is shared, reused and integrated. 

RF Design Resources

The team works in a state-of-the-art facility that houses millions of dollars worth of equipment including multi-tone testers, digital modulation test systems, and a world-class RF anechoic chamber. The company has invested significantly in a state-of-the-art environmental simulation to perform product validations and qualifications according to strict industry standards.

The facility offers an advanced center not only for R&D and RF module design, but also production test development. This team plays a critical role in developing highly specialized test procedures, allowing Microtune to provide its customers with fully tested, plug-in RF modules.

RF Design Practices

The team is committed to flawless execution and maintains the highest practices and standards, from design reviews to benchmarking to manufacturing. Through defined methodologies, processes and techniques, the focus is on quality, customer orientation and best-practices.

RF Design Support

To support customers in integrating Microtune RF technology, the company offers an infrastructure of worldwide application and engineering assistance. The team supports customers in customizing their designs, enabling them to acquire an early-to-market solution for their RF needs.

RF Center for Quality

Microtune Ingolstadt is designated as the driver for setting Microtune’s quality initiatives. The Ingolstadt location meets the following certifications and standards:
  • Certified according to ISO 9001:2000
  • Certified to ISO 14001:2004, an internationally accepted specification for an environmental management system. This standard specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy.
