What is an GFCI?
A GFCI, or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, is a life-saving device which is designed to prevent you from getting a fatal electric shock if you touch something live, such as a bare wire. It can also provide some protection against electrical fires. GFCI offers a level of personal protection that ordinary fuses and circuit-breakers cannot provide.
How the GFCI test function works?
Ensure that the socket outlet is wired correctly (use socket outlet test). Plug the unit into the 120V socket outlet under test, press the yellow button momentarily, If the GFCI does not trip, then the GFCI may be faulty, or not wired to the socket outlet being tested.
THIS ITEM CAN NOT DETECT EARTH NEUTRAL REVERSE.
All wiring should be carried out by a licensed Electrical Contractor, Do not leave the Tester plugged into a socket outlet for more than 2 hours.
This versatile tester checks US power outlet sockets for correct wiring and trip function for GFCI.
