This refractometer is a good replacement for homebrew hydrometer. It's suitable for measuring the sugar concentration of liquid such as beer wort, fruit juices, wine etc. It's quite easy to calibrate and read, the whole process of get reading will be less than 1 minute, which is much easier and faster than using a hydrometer. With this refractometer home brewing will be easier than you can think.
Method of use:
1.Make sure the room temprature is 68?.
2.Place 2-3 drops of distilled water on the prism, then close the cover plate and make sure the water spreads across the prism without air bubnles or dry spots.
3.Turn the calibration screw until the reading is "0".
4.Place 2-3 drops of liquid sample on the prism, then close the cover plate and make sure the liquid sample spreads across the prism without air bubnles or dry spots.
5.Wait 30s to let the reading to stabilize and look into the eyepiece to get the reading.
6.After reading clean the refractometer and dry it.
7.Put all the components back in the storage box.
*This Brix refractometer can not be used for alcohol or honey.
*If the scale is too dark to read, you can use a light source to help.
*You can screw the eyepiece part to adjust the focus.

Brix Refractometer with Dual Scale: This Brix refractometer can be used for checking speicific gravity between 1.000-1.130 and Brix values between 0-32% of liquid like beer wort, wine, fruit juices etc. It's ideal for home brewing, such as beer making and wine making.
Accurate Reading: Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) mechanism is built in this Brix refractometer to decrease the effect of temperature deviation and ensure the measuring accuracy.
Easy to Calibrate & Read: Place 2-3 drops of the liquid sample to be tested on the prism after calibrating, then close the cover plate and wait for about 30s, then you can get the accurate reading through the eyepiece. The whole process will be much easier and faster than using a hydrometer, which will help at every step of brewing.
Easy to Carry: the solid aluminium handheld refractometer measures only ?1.57*6.69 inches, its small and lightweight design make it easy to carry.
Compact Set?This Brix refractometer kit contains 1*Brix refractometer, 1*plastic pipette , 1*mini screw driver, 1*cleaning cloth, 1*storage box, 1*english user manual. The storage box makes it convenient to store.
